In an interview to “Grandes Negócios” (ETV Channel) Cisco General Manager in Portugal confirmed that the company intends to keep investing in Portugal.
In 2008 Cisco opened its European sales support center. Five years later, Nuno Ferraz de Carvalho, Cisco’s General Manager in Portugal, talked about the success of the operation both in terms of “efficiency and return on investment”.
Given the fact that “Portugal is a good country to live in” people tend to stay. That translates into less “churning” / people’s turnover (3-5% in Portugal compared to 50% in India) and thus less costs to the company.
Cisco also wants “to lead in the areas of data center, mobile and video”; segments where they want to be a major player.
