A Portuguese StartUp: NearUs among the best in Europe in a final contest at Mobile World Congress 2015
NearUs, which is European finalist of EU Mobile Challenge, which selected the best mobile apps of Europe, competes for the grand prize at Mobile World Congress 2015, the world’s largest convention of mobile applications in Barcelona, 2-5 March.
NearUS is a location-based application for anonymous communications and interactivity for events and places with the potential for hyper local marketing.
NearUS aims to be an interactive platform for event organizers. Where for example, users can choose the next song in a concert, or the best player on the field in a football game, without any registration. For organizers, is a way of introducing interaction in an event or place, as well as promote their brand or sponsors, as the application is ready to be customized.
However, it is an application that allows any user to communicate with the people around them on an anonymous basis, wherever they are.
Having been launched in November got already 10,000 users and about 750 rooms around the world, without any marketing costs.
A young Portuguese team formed by André Freitas, Rui Peixoto and Tiago Serra created it.
